Tattoo accommodations matter because comfort affects the entire tattoo experience.
Your body deserves respect throughout the process.
Your needs will always be taken seriously here.
At Tattoo Kiss, I create tattoos in a space built for anxious, disabled, neurodiverse, and marginalized clients. You never need to explain or justify your needs. Instead, you can focus on the art, the moment, and yourself.
Below, you’ll find the tattoo accommodations and values that guide every appointment at Tattoo Kiss.
Tattoo Accommodations for Anxious Clients
Getting a tattoo can feel overwhelming, especially if anxiety is involved. For that reason, I prioritize clarity, preparation, and consent from the start.
First, I offer an FAQ page where you can quietly scroll through questions you might feel embarrassed to ask. However, you are always welcome to ask me anything directly. I will never judge you.
In addition, my website includes blog articles about tattoo pain, preparation, and what to expect. These resources help you feel informed and grounded before your appointment.
Before your session, I send detailed guidance for parking and finding the studio. If you prefer to receive that information sooner, I can send it early.
I price by the piece rather than hourly. Because of this, there is no pressure to rush. If something takes longer, that’s okay. We can slow down and talk through each step.
Before tattooing begins, you will always approve your design. You can also request changes at any time. Once the stencil is placed, I’ll invite you to check placement in the mirror so you can confirm it feels right.
Size-Inclusive Values
Tattoo Kiss is a size-inclusive tattoo studio.
Tattoos belong on every body that wants one. Size does not determine worth or beauty. Body hair is never an issue here.
Stretch marks, loose skin, scars, rolls, or any other features you feel unsure about will never prevent you from getting the tattoo you want. In fact, bigger bodies simply offer more canvas for meaningful art.
Tattoo Accommodations for Anxious and Neurodiverse Clients
Comfort and boundaries guide every appointment.
I do my best to notice body language and check in when needed. That said, I always encourage you to speak up. You will not hurt my feelings. Since tattooing is collaborative, I confirm each step with you as we go.
You are welcome to bring items that support sensory regulation, such as:
- Headphones
- Sunglasses or an eye mask
- A blanket
- A stuffie
- Fidgets
During sessions, I play soothing soundbath music by default. However, you can request silence or a different sound at any time.
If conversation feels draining, you may request minimal conversation either ahead of time or during your appointment. Quiet is welcome here.
Wheelchair-Accessible Tattoo Accommodations
Tattoo Kiss offers wheelchair-accessible tattoo accommodations.
You may bring one guest to assist with transferring to the tattoo chair if needed. For safety and sanitation, the chair is cleaned according to Oregon law and can be covered with disposable barriers to contain ink and biohazard materials.
To make transfers easier, the tattoo chair lowers to wheelchair height whenever needed.
Chronic Illness–Informed Tattoo Accommodations
If you have MCAS, I have completed training in trauma-informed tattooing and skin sensitivities. Because of this, I use gentle, vegan, hypoallergenic products and collaborate with you to avoid flare triggers.
If you have POTS, the studio remains temperature regulated. I also keep rescue electrolytes and supportive seating available to help reduce fainting or fatigue.
If you have EDS, I use gentle stretching techniques, minimize strain during positioning, and schedule breaks to reduce joint stress and pain.
Above all, my goal is to create a calm, respectful environment where your body is supported at every stage.
Everyone Is Welcome at Tattoo Kiss
All clients are welcome at Tattoo Kiss.
That includes every skin tone, every body, every gender, every identity, and every belief.
Most importantly, you belong here exactly as you are.
